After split rumors have dogged these two since they’ve gotten married, it’s official: Avril Lavigne and Deryck Whibley are getting a divorce.
The two married in a Catholic ceremony in Montecito, California on July 15, 2006. And after three years, the two are calling it quits.
A source said, “She dumped him and told him she was leaving him. She wants to move on. Divorce papers will be filed any day now.”
As for the Sum 41 singer, Deryck, he is reportedly “crushed”.
The source added that Avril is forcing him to leave their $9.5 million, 12,000-square-foot mansion in Bel Air.
I guess none of this is surprising, considering how many times she was spotted out drunk and without him. Besides that, they’re both young, so they’ll bounce back and maybe Avril can give us the punk rock that we expect from her.
